The Hyde Park project involved the sensitive refurbishment of two Georgian period properties in West London. The client’s brief was to create a design that respected the heritage of the buildings while delivering modern, flexible living spaces. Through a collaborative approach, we defined a design direction that would enhance both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the apartments.
The resulting scheme transformed the properties into a pair of self-contained one-bedroom apartments, designed so they could also be combined to form a luxurious two-bedroom residence. Thoughtful spatial planning and attention to detail throughout created an environment that feels both timeless and contemporary. The transformation proved commercially successful, contributing to a £150,000 increase in the property’s valuation.
Interior design & architecture.
We crafted interiors that complement the historic character of the Georgian buildings while introducing modern elements for comfort and style. Each apartment was designed to maximise natural light, enhance circulation and create an elegant, cohesive atmosphere. Attention to finishes, materiality and proportion ensured a seamless blend of old and new.
Production of detailed technical drawing packages to support construction and fit-out.
Detailed architectural and interior drawings were developed to guide the refurbishment and ensure precision in execution. Plans, elevations and bespoke joinery details were prepared to provide contractors with clear, accurate instructions, supporting a high-quality, efficient fit-out.
Ongoing project coordination, including regular site visits and liaison with contractors.
Regular site inspections and close collaboration with contractors ensured that the design vision was faithfully realised. Any challenges arising on site were addressed promptly, keeping the project on schedule and maintaining the standard of workmanship throughout.
Management of local authority documentation and submission processes.
All necessary planning and building control applications were prepared and submitted, ensuring compliance with local regulations. We liaised with relevant authorities to secure approvals, enabling a smooth and timely delivery of the project.
